A half day cultural walking tour of Florence, Tuscany
This tour is designed to provide an in depth understanding of ancient Florence, but is also perfect for first time visitors. We will start our walk by visiting one of the most picturesque districts in town, the Ponte Vecchio, with its goldsmith shops, and the Uffizi courtyard. Your guide will tell you about the Medici family, one of the greatest of the Florentine families, and you will hear an explanation of Florence that combines historical information with more recent events. We will then proceed towards the civic centre of Florence, the Piazza della Signoria, where you will have the opportunity to admire the Renaissance statues and the mediaeval Town Hall. After that, your guide will take you to the Piazza del Duomo, the square in front of the famous Cathedral of Florence, where you will see one of the largest cathedrals in the world with its magnificent dome. Our final destination will be the Accademia, the Gallery of the Academy, where your guide will talk about Michelangelo's life as it relates to the many masterpieces by the artist displayed in the Academy. Before visiting the Academy, there will be time for a good homemade gelato!

The aim of our Uffizi guided tour is not to rush through the Gallery, but, instead, to observe selected works and use the Gallery as a visual text to enjoy the evolution of the Italian pictorial language.

A three hour tour celebrating Florence's culinary and artistic heritages
With this tour, we aim to combine Florence's culinary and artistic heritages in a walk that lasts three hours. The tour is designed for those who don’t have much time to spend in Florence and who are nevertheless curious to discover the many pleasures that the city can offer besides history and art. We start our tour by visiting the central food market where you will taste and receive explanations about: extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegard, lampredotto, cheese, cold cuts and local schiacciata. And you will learn how the food is a central aspect of everyday life in Florence. After that we will continue our walk through the main city sights, including the Cathedral and Signoria Square. Along the way, there will be time for an amazing home-made gelato. Our final destination willl be the Palazzo Vecchio, the ancient Town Hall, where you will enjoy the beautiful frescoed apartments where the Medici family lived and the famous hall where the “art detectives” are still searching for the lost Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece behind an immense 16th century battle scene that adorns the walls of the Hall of the Five Hundred in Palazzo Vecchio, the historic seat of government in Florence.
